      Service list for this position has provided insufficient acceptors. 
      Therefore, a provisional appointment will be made. Individuals who fulfill 
      the minimum qualifications of the last Civil Service examination 
      announcement or the minimum Civil Service classification standards for the 
      position are encouraged to apply. Any provisional appointee will be 
      required to take, pass and be reachable on the next Civil Service 
      examination. 
      Provisional - Applicant must have had three months permanent competitive 
      service as a Keyboard Specialist 1, Keyboard Specialist 2, or Senior 
      Stenographer. For appointment from the eligible list, they must have had 
      one year of the qualifying experience for taking the test. They must take, 
      pass and be reachable on the next Secretary 1 exam in order to obtain 
      permanent appointment.  OR 70.1 
      Transfer - You must be a permanent 
      Keyboard Specialist 2 for at least one year and have been originally 
      appointed from the Keyboard Specialist 2 list. You will not be required to 
      take the Secretary 1 exam. Or if you are currently a Calculations Clerk 
      II, Clerk II, Stores Clerk II, Information Processing Specialist II, 
      Senior Data Entry Machine Operator, Library Clerk II, Data Processing 
      Clerk II, or Hospital Patient Services Clerk II. You are encouraged to 
      apply. You must have one year of permanent service in these titles and 
      will be required to pass a typing test. You will not be required to take 
      the Secretary I exam.  Preferred 
      Qualifications: Excellent communication (oral and written) and organizational 
      skills are a must. Experience in health education, and understanding of 
      the needs of support for administrative and scholarly work of a senior 
      academic administrator are important. Familiarity with health careers 
      education and clinical laboratory science vocabulary is 
      helpful. 
  Brief Description of Duties: 
       
        - Meet support staff needs for Associate Dean 
        including telephone, in person and mail screening. 
        
 - Coordinate regular and ad hoc/emergency 
        meetings with students, faculty and staff, as required by Assoc Dean; 
        arrange for scheduling, reserve space, invitations, etc. 
        
 - Maintain student recruitment data and 
        activities log; facilitate and coordinate recruitment materials. 
        
 - Maintain data and facilitate special events 
        functions, as needed (Commencement, Orientation, etc.). 
        
 - Assist with editing and formatting material 
        for scholarly work, meetings and other similar presentations. 
        
 - Supervise other office staff or temporary 
        personnel. 
        
 - Organize and maintain office file 
        system.

  Special Notes: 
      This is a full time position, 37.5 
      hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This is a 
      FLSA non-exempt position, that is, eligible for overtime monies. Internal 
      and external search to occur simultaneously. Mandatory rehire roster 
      candidates have preference.
