The Gimilsin Temple and the Palace of the Rulers at Tell Asmar
Henri Frankfort, Seton Lloyd, and Thorkild Jacobsen, with a chapter by Günter Martiny.
In the desert east of the Diyala River at the site of Tell Asmar (ancient Eshnunna) a sequence of inscribed bricks has revealed the succession of ten rulers. Through close association of archaeologist and epigrapher, both the textual and archaeological evidence has been brought to bear on the history of Eshnunna during the period represented by the ruins.
