In this thesis a simple model for the growth of silver particles on well dened surfaces is developed. The model is applied to introduce a new approach to compare the surface reactivity of dierent materials by estimating the amount of deposited silver from silver particle height. This technique was applied to investigate the differences in surface reactivity between ferroelectric PbTiO3 and paraelectric SrTiO3. The model suggests that the reactivity of PbTiO3 is 50% higher than on SrTiO3. Furthermore it has been shown that a SrRuO3 bottom electrode under a PbTiO3 lm has no measurable eect on the surface reactivity of PbTiO3.
