Michael O'Conner has just been released from prison for drug related criminal activity. While he has remained a prisoner of the state for the past eight years, his family has been orchestrating an opera of lies and deception to fool not only each other, but also themselves. The play is the story of disarray in the lives of a family that can't seem to put the pieces back together. Michael serves as a catalyst of the play, and while the audience learns about his past throughout the play from others, his unique voice is only revealed in the final scenes. At the play's conclusion, we see the purity of his character, and the value of his presence with great clarity.
