dcterms.abstractThis book has eighty-nine recipes written in standard cookbook style. Recipe chapter titles include: Pork; Poultry; Beef; Seafood; Soups; Salads; Hor d'oeuvres; and Desserts. Before the recipes, there are three pages about the author. The table of contents is called `What to Expect.` Following the table of contents are acknowledgments by the author. There are three pages about a number of regional cuisines. Given is a list of items for a Chinese pantry titled `How to Stock Up.` There is a glossary of twenty-three ingredients, and three items of equipment. There are four pages with advantages and disadvantages of different types of woks. Also included is a page about six cooking techniques, and three pages discuss two rice recipes. After the recipes, there are six suggested menus. Recipe chapters are divided by color pages and titles with black and white illustrations. The author is a cooking instructor. This is the second printing; the first printing was in 1974 and was published in Oakland CA.
