There are twelve pages titled: `Chinese Larder describe twenty-five ingredients.` After the recipes, there is a five page bibliography of eighty-three cookery books and other background materials. Contains a fifteen page, two column cross-referenced idex. There are many black and white line drawings by Emily Lisker. The illustrations and author's personal memories depict the role of food at the center of author's family life when growing up as a Chinese-American in the Unites States.
